Tested For Home is an independent review site for the products that make a house run: kitchen gear, furniture, bedding, cleaning tools, home comfort, and the everyday equipment most people only buy once every few years and want to get right.
We started Tested For Home for a simple reason. Shopping for home and kitchen products has become genuinely hard. Every category is crowded with near-identical listings, glowing star ratings that don’t tell you much, and review sites that seem to recommend whatever pays the most. When you’re spending real money on something you’ll use every day, “the internet says it’s a best-seller” isn’t good enough.
What we do
We publish clear, practical buying guides that answer the question you actually have: which one should I buy, and why. For every guide, we compare the options in a category the way a careful, skeptical shopper would, looking at the specs that matter, the trade-offs nobody mentions in the product description, and what long-term owners consistently report after living with a product for months or years.
Our goal is to save you the hours of research and the risk of buying something that looks great in photos but disappoints in your kitchen or living room.
How we choose products
We judge products on how they hold up in real, everyday use, not on how well they market themselves. A coffee maker that makes great coffee but clogs after six months isn’t a good pick, no matter how many features it lists. A chair that looks comfortable but wrecks your back after an hour isn’t a recommendation. We weigh durability, everyday usability, and honest value, and we’re upfront about who a product is right for and who should skip it.
When a category has a clear best option, we say so. When the “best” depends on your situation, small kitchen versus large, budget versus premium, we tell you which to pick for which case, rather than pretending one product is right for everyone.
Our independence
Tested For Home is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That’s how we keep the lights on. But that commission never decides our recommendations. We don’t accept payment from brands to be featured or ranked higher, and we’re just as willing to tell you to save your money or buy the cheaper option when that’s the honest answer.
Our loyalty is to the reader, not the retailer. A recommendation you can’t trust is worthless, and we’d rather build something you come back to than earn a quick commission on a product we don’t believe in.
